At DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, our Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist - Mammography Part Time Days role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care and contributions to the field of diagnostic imaging.
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist - Mammography Part Time Days to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic mammography exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, verifying patient identity, and reviewing patient medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure.
The ideal candidate will have registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Mammography (M) and possess analytical and clinical skills necessary to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing requested radiographs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also essential to effectively instruct patients who may be under physical/emotional stress.
**Key Responsibilities**

• Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, and/or psychological indicators.
  
• Explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
  
• Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per script, reviewing images, making initial observations, documenting exceptions from established protocols, and communicating data to radiologists.
  
• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate, providing physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
  
• Participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction.
  
• Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
  
• Able to take call/standby as required by the department, may perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed.
  
  **Requirements**
  --- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Mammography (M)
  --- Successful completion of American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period
  --- Analytical and clinical skills necessary to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing requested radiographs
  --- Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively instruct patients who may be under physical/emotional stress
  --- Strong technical knowledge necessary to operate equipment, including all specialized equipment and computers
  --- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities
  --- Knowledge and understanding of American College of Radiology and MQSA requirements for accreditation
  --- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients
